Terms of Use

Effective EFFECTIVE DATE · Applies to the WOW app on iPhone and Android and to itswow.dating

These terms are an agreement between you and LEGAL ENTITY NAME, REGISTERED ADDRESS (CIN/GSTIN), which runs WOW ("we" or "us"). By creating an account you accept them, together with our Privacy Policy, Community Guidelines and Subscription terms. If you do not agree, do not use WOW.

1. Who can use WOW

You can use WOW only if all of these are true:

  • You are 18 or older.
  • You can enter a binding contract under Indian law.
  • You are a real person using your own name, age and photos.
  • You have only one WOW account.
  • We have not banned you before.
  • You have not been convicted of a sexual offence or a violent crime, and you are not required to register as a sex offender anywhere.

We check your age from your birthday and refuse accounts under 18. Giving a false birthday is a serious breach of these terms.

2. Your account

You sign in with Apple or with a code sent to your email. Keep access to that account safe; you are responsible for what happens on your WOW account. Tell us at grievance@itswow.dating if you think someone else has got into it.

3. What WOW is, and what it is not

WOW helps adults meet each other. It is a platform: the people you meet and what they post are their responsibility, not ours. We do not run criminal background checks. The verified badge means only that a person's selfie matched their profile photos when we checked it. It does not mean we vouch for them. Read our Safety tips before you meet anyone.

WOW is an intermediary under the Information Technology Act, 2000. We follow the due diligence the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021 require.

4. Your content

You own the photos, prompts, voice recordings, comments and messages you post ("your content"). You give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, copy, resize and show your content to other WOW users, only to run and improve WOW. The licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except where we must keep it by law or for a safety case (see the Privacy Policy).

You confirm that:

  • your photos show you, and anyone else in them has agreed to appear;
  • you have the right to post everything you post;
  • your content follows these terms and the Community Guidelines.

5. What you must not post or do

You must not post, send or share anything that:

  1. belongs to someone else and you have no right to share;
  2. is obscene, pornographic or sexually explicit, including nudity (this can be an offence under sections 67 and 67A of the IT Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023);
  3. involves or sexualises anyone under 18 in any way;
  4. invades anyone's privacy, including bodily privacy, or shares another person's private or intimate images without consent;
  5. insults or harasses anyone because of their gender, sexual orientation, religion, caste, race, ethnicity, disability or any other identity, or promotes enmity between groups;
  6. threatens, stalks, bullies or intimidates anyone;
  7. is related to money laundering, gambling or other illegal activity, or asks anyone for money;
  8. is harmful to children;
  9. infringes a patent, trademark, copyright or other right;
  10. deceives or misleads people, including fake profiles, catfishing, impersonation and knowingly false information;
  11. is an AI-generated or edited image, video or voice of a real person made to look real, without their consent;
  12. offers or asks for sex work, escort services or any commercial service;
  13. advertises, sells or promotes products, links, apps or other platforms;
  14. threatens the unity, integrity, defence, security or sovereignty of India, friendly relations with other countries or public order, or incites any offence;
  15. contains viruses or other code designed to harm software or devices;
  16. breaks any law in force in India.

You must also not scrape WOW, use bots or automation, sell or transfer your account, or try to get around a block, a ban or our security.

6. How we enforce these terms

We use reports from users, automated checks and human review to find content and accounts that break these terms. When we find a breach we may remove content, limit features, suspend or permanently ban the account, and keep records needed to stop the person from coming back. Where the law requires, or where a child may be at risk, we report to the police or other authorities.

We will tell you why we acted where we can, unless the law or someone's safety prevents it. You can challenge a decision through our Grievance process, and after that at the Grievance Appellate Committee.

We act on orders from courts and authorised government agencies within the time limits the law sets, including blocking orders under section 69A of the IT Act.

7. What we promise you

  • Every profile is a real person. We do not create fake profiles or bots that pretend to be users.
  • Timers and counts are real. The 24-hour match timer, the number of people who liked you and Picks reflect what is actually happening.
  • Clear prices. WOW+ prices are shown in full, including GST, before you buy.
  • Cancelling is easy. You can cancel WOW+ in a few taps (see Subscriptions).

8. WOW+

WOW+ is an optional paid subscription. Billing, renewal, cancellation and refunds are covered in the Subscription terms, which form part of these terms.

9. Our property

The WOW name, logo, app and designs belong to us. You may use WOW for your own personal, non-commercial use only.

10. Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time in Settings (see Delete your account). Deleting your account does not cancel a WOW+ subscription billed by Apple or Google; cancel that in your store account.

We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms, if the law requires it or if your account puts others at risk.

11. Disclaimers

We work hard to keep WOW running and safe, but we provide it "as is". We do not promise that you will find a match, that the service will always be available or that every user is who they say they are. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.

12. Limits on our liability

To the extent Indian law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for the conduct of other users on or off WOW. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or ₹1,000, whichever is higher. These limits do not apply to liability that cannot be limited by law, including for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.

13. If you break these terms

If you break these terms or the law and someone makes a claim against us because of it, you agree to cover our reasonable losses and costs from that claim.

14. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Please contact our Grievance Officer first; most problems can be solved there. If not, the courts at Ahmedabad, Gujarat have jurisdiction. This does not stop you from going to a Consumer Commission under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.

15. Changes and yearly reminder

We will tell you in the app before important changes take effect. We also remind all users of these terms, our Privacy Policy and the consequences of breaking them at least once a year, as the Intermediary Rules require.
