Disclaimer
Effective 15 October 2026 · Applies to the WOW app on iPhone and Android and to itswow.dating
Please read this before you use WOW. It explains what WOW does and does not do, and the risks you take on when you meet people through it. It is part of our Terms of Use. Nothing here takes away any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 or any other law that cannot be excluded by agreement.
1. WOW is a platform, not a party to your dates
WOW is an online platform that lets adults find and message each other. We are an intermediary under the Information Technology Act, 2000. We do not choose who you meet, we are not present when you chat or meet, and we are not a party to any relationship, arrangement or dispute between users. Every user is responsible for what they post, say and do, on WOW and off it.
2. Where WOW is available
At launch WOW is offered only in the Charotar region of Gujarat, meaning Anand district and Kheda district. People outside this area may be able to sign up or join the waitlist, but we do not promise that there will be anyone near them to match with, and we may limit features or close accounts outside the area until WOW launches there.
3. We do not run background checks
We do not check criminal records, identity documents, marital status, age documents, religion, caste, community, income, education, job, family background or health of any user, including whether a user is single or married. Information on a profile is written by that user and may be false or out of date.
4. What "verified" means, and what it does not
WOW only shows you people with a verified badge. The badge means only this: a member of our team compared a selfie the person took in the app with their profile photos, and they appeared to be the same person at the time of the check. It does not mean that we know who the person is, that their name, age or other details are true, that they are safe, or that we recommend or vouch for them. Photos can change after verification. Verification can be wrong.
5. Meeting in person is at your own risk
Any meeting, call, relationship or exchange with someone you found on WOW is your own decision and at your own risk. Meet in a public place, tell a friend, arrange your own travel and never send money. Read our Dating safely page. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for the conduct of any user, on or off WOW, or for any loss, injury, harm or damage arising from your interactions with other users.
6. WOW is not a matrimonial service
WOW is a dating app. It is not a matrimonial website or a marriage bureau, and it does not arrange, negotiate or guarantee marriages, engagements or relationships. We do not check whether a profile is suitable for marriage. If you are considering marriage, make your own enquiries and take your own advice.
7. Kundli match is traditional, not a prediction
Kundli match is optional and off by default. The score (out of 36) uses the traditional Ashtakoota (Guna Milan) method, worked out only from the position of the Moon at each person's birth. It does not look at the rest of a horoscope, Mangal dosha or any other factor an astrologer would consider, and it depends on the birth date, time and place each person typed in, which we do not check.
Astrology is a cultural and traditional practice, not a science. The kundli score is offered for cultural interest and entertainment only. It is not a prediction about any relationship, marriage, health, wealth or future, and it is not astrological, religious, medical, legal, financial or relationship advice. Please do not make important decisions, including about marriage, based on it. It never changes who you see on WOW.
8. Matches, scores and Picks are suggestions
The compatibility score, Daily WOW Picks, Most Compatible and the order of profiles are automated suggestions based on the limited information described in our Privacy Policy. They are not a measure of anyone's worth and not a promise that you will get along. We do not promise that you will get likes, matches, replies, dates or a relationship.
9. Distances and places are approximate
Distances are worked out from locations rounded to about 1 kilometre and shown in whole kilometres. Town and village names come from public map data (GeoNames and OpenStreetMap) and may be incomplete or spelled differently from local use. Do not rely on WOW to find or navigate to anyone.
10. User content is not ours
Profiles, photos, prompts, voice prompts, comments and messages are posted by users. We do not check them before they appear, we do not endorse them and they do not reflect our views. We act on content that breaks our Community Guidelines when we find it or when it is reported, as described in our Terms of Use and Grievances page.
11. Not an emergency or support service
WOW cannot send help. If you or someone else is in danger, call 112. For online fraud, call 1930 or visit cybercrime.gov.in. More helplines are on our Dating safely page. Nothing on WOW is medical, mental health, legal or financial advice.
12. The service is provided as is
We work to keep WOW available, accurate and secure, but we provide it "as is" and "as available". We do not promise that it will always be available, uninterrupted, free of errors or free of harmful code, or that data will never be lost. Parts of WOW depend on services run by others, such as Apple, Google, Supabase and Expo, which we do not control.
13. Pictures in our marketing
People shown on this website, in our App Store and Play Store listings and in our ads are models or AI-generated images used for illustration. They are not WOW users and you will not find them in the app.
14. Links to other websites
WOW and this website link to other websites and services, such as government helplines. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content or practices.
